About
Hello! I am a Japanese writer and reporter based in New York City and Tokyo. I currently write about the intersection of history and politics, and nuclear technology.
My works and writings have appeared in publications from Columbia Journalism School, including my first co-authored book, Piece by Piece, and CNN. I have also reported and produced a live radio show at Columbia Journalism School, at Uptown Radio.
I entered journalism because I wish to serve as an intermediary between people whose lives would not intersect had it not been for journalism. I wish to achieve this through writing longform narrative works, rooted in deep and human reporting.
I hold an MS from Columbia Journalism School, supported by a Columbia Alumni Association Scholarship. Remnants from another life when I aspired to become an international legal historian, I obtained an MA from Columbia University in European Studies, and an LL.B from Waseda University in Law, with a minor in Political Science.
